It was getting late when we visited Selfridges so it was a brief look round, but most people have already been to Selfridges many times before. I think the best bit about this department store is the window display, every time I have been, the windows look great. But especially because it's Christmas season, they are beautiful. Although there has been some controversy about the dolls in the window looking similar to Frank Sidebottom, a comic character created by Chris Sievey.
The interior of this store is more or less all white with each instalment displaying its own aesthetic in it's own way. A white path leads you round all areas of the store, they have everything from make-up to high street and designer clothes to children's toys.
Selfridges is a chain of high end department stores in the United Kingdom. It was founded by Harry Gordon Selfridge. The flagship store in London's Oxford Street is the second largest shop in the UK (after Harrods) and was opened on 15 March 1909[1]. More recently, three other stores have been opened; in Trafford, Greater Manchester(1998), in Manchester City Centre's Exchange Square (2002) and in the Bullring, Birmingham (2003). The store was for a long time part of the famous Lewis's group.
